{"id":16482,"date":"2023-10-20T15:26:31","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T13:26:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wildhood.org\/?p=16482"},"modified":"2023-11-01T15:32:43","modified_gmt":"2023-11-01T14:32:43","slug":"impact-report-q3-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wildhood.org\/en\/2023\/10\/20\/impact-report-q3-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Impact report Q3 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These operations resulted in the seizure of:<\/p>\n<p>\u27576 elephant tusks<br \/>\n\u27578 weapons including 1 AK-47<br \/>\n\u27573 pangolins, 2 rescued alive<br \/>\n\u27571 leopard skin<br \/>\n\u2757462 wire snares<br \/>\n\u2757Multiple axes, knives, spears and crowbars<br \/>\n\u27574 illegal fishing boats<br \/>\n\u27571.500 m of fishing nets<br \/>\n\u275748 logs from illegally logged trees<\/p>\n<p>The Akashinga rangers patrolled over 4.500 km by foot and 34.600 km by vehicle. They mitigated 36 human wildlife conflicts including elephants, hippos, leopards and baboons.<\/p>\n<p>Our 6 dogs and their handlers spent a total of 576 hours on rhino monitoring and 432 hours on operations where they searched for and arrested suspected poachers.<\/p>\n<p>On top of that they spent 3564 hours on different safeguarding activities such as observation posts, where ranger teams with dogs move to spots where they can see vast areas of wilderness.
