They conducted <strong>574 patrols<\/strong> and participated in <strong>18 operations<\/strong> with local authorities, which resulted in <strong>46 arrests<\/strong> of individuals suspected of poaching and illegal wildlife trade and the confiscation of:<\/p>\n<p>2 pangolins (both alive and reintroduced to the wild), 5 axes, 3 bows and 15 arrows, 2 knives, 67 steel traps. 4,400 m of fishnet, 600 m of twine net, 12 fishing boats, 10 kg of fish, and multiple snares<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17039 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wildhood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/6BE28047-B33C-41E2-A073-E36896D590EE_1_201_a.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wildhood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/6BE28047-B33C-41E2-A073-E36896D590EE_1_201_a.jpeg 1600w, https:\/\/www.wildhood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/6BE28047-B33C-41E2-A073-E36896D590EE_1_201_a-1280x960.jpeg 1280w, https:\/\/www.wildhood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/6BE28047-B33C-41E2-A073-E36896D590EE_1_201_a-980x735.jpeg 980w, https:\/\/www.wildhood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/6BE28047-B33C-41E2-A073-E36896D590EE_1_201_a-480x360.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) and (max-width: 1280px) 1280px, (min-width: 1281px) 1600px, 100vw\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, <strong>67 human-wildlife conflicts<\/strong> were mitigated involving species such as hyenas, elephants, and buffalo. Together with our implementing partner organisations, we now protect <strong>1.5 million hectares<\/strong> of wilderness across three countries, including <strong>65 km of coastline and sea.<\/strong> Ecosystems that are home to thousands of species of wildlife, trees and plants that sequester <strong>6 million tons<\/strong> of carbon dioxide each year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Thank you for making this work possible.
